Applying for the Sustainable Water Fund starts with participating in the call for ideas, by handing in a concept note.

Guidelines for the concept note can be found in the policy framework (see: Official Notices)  and the download below.

After receiving an advice from, it is possible to hand in a full proposal. This is explained below.

Concept notes

Concept notes are compulsory before handing in a full proposal. It allows you to pitch your project and partnership ideas in an easy and accessible way. RVO will give you a recommendation (positive or negative) on whether or not to develop your ideas further. It will also include recommendations on how to do this. aims to give its recommendation on the concept note within four weeks (including a dialogue).

After you have submitted the concept note and received a positive advice from, you may request a voucher. You can download the vouchers. A voucher is a financial support means, that can be used to hire an organisation or expert to acquire relevant knowledge for drawing up an FDW grant application. It may also be used to hire third parties to help develop parts of the intervention strategy. Only NGOs and small enterprises that are members of a potential PPP can apply for a voucher. Full proposals & Applications

After handing in a concept note and having received advice from, it is possible to make an application and hand in a full proposal. All mandatory and explanatory documents can be found here.

The first round (31 Dec. 2016 - 27 Feb. 2017) for applications for Sustainable Water Fund grants is closed.

The planning for the 2nd round for the Sustainable Water Fund Grant Programme:

  • Deadline for Concept Notes: 8 December 2017
  • Applications for grants may be submitted from: 1 October 2017 until 5 February 2018, 15:00 CET
