This year, the US city of Las Vegas hosted the annual Consumer Electronic Show (CES). The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) attended the event with some of the best Dutch startups. They all share the same ambition: to scale up their international businesses.
CES is the world's largest tech exhibition. It is where important tech companies and startups inspire their audiences with the latest innovations. But it is also a place to do business, find investors and create partnerships.
Successful week
This year, 70 companies from the Netherlands showcased their innovative products and services to a broad audience at 2 NL Pavilions. Dutch startup envoy Constantijn van Oranje opened the pavilions.
It was a successful week for many of the Dutch companies. Hydraloop, famous for its greywater recycling innovation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bowersox Investment Group. Bowersox plans to build 140 homes in the US state of Georgia with a built-in Hydraloop system.
Dutch firm Alphabeats, creators of neurofeedback systems for workouts, signed a partnership agreement with Garmin.
The head of RVO's International Entrepreneurship department, Tjerk Opmeer, said, "It is fascinating and wonderful to see how we can achieve this much success through our pavilions and approach. It was rewarding for the participating startups and scale-ups, but also for the Netherlands. What stood out for me, was the excellent vibe between the companies. My compliments to the colleagues and companies who made this possible."
Business opportunities for startups
CES started in 1967 and has developed into the leading international tech event. It now attracts 180,000 companies from 160 countries. CES Las Vegas is the place to meet investors, the media, corporate companies and tech influencers.
Taking part in the Dutch trade mission to CES gives startups a chance to present their product or service to an international audience.
