The Republic of Mozambique received a grant from the Government of the Netherlands for the Water4Nampula Project. The Government of the Republic of Mozambique will use part of the grant to contract a consulting company (or a consortium of consulting companies) to undertake the necessary preparatory studies that are needed to develop the project. The Administração de Infra-estruturas de Água e Saneamento (AIAS) is the Executing Agency for this project.
The services include the elaboration of:
- a feasibility and conceptual design;
- an Environmental, Social Impact Assessment (ESIA);
- detailed design for a 20-year time horizon;
- tender documents for the construction/rehabilitation and expansion of each of the water supply systems
The project will be executed in the small towns of Nametil, Malema, Namialo, and Namapa, located in Nampula Province.
The consultancy agency will also provide the basis for the assessment by RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency, through its DRIVE instrument) and potential other donors, and the decision on whether or not to finance and implement the project.
