More articles

You are a researcher who has received a PhD between 2 and 12 years ago. You are looking to set up or strengthen your (first) independent research team. To support that mission, you are planning to write an application for an ERC Starting or Consolidator grant. Then this training is interesting for you.

Please note that this training is explicitly not intended for grant advisors or support staff.

Learning objectives

You will:

  • gain insight into the ERC rules and procedures;
  • be able to evaluate the strength of your track record;
  • gain insight into the term 'frontier science' and assess your research idea accordingly; and
  • learn how to translate your research idea into an ERC proposal.

The course is highly interactive. Not only you will benefit from the experience and insights of the group and trainers, you will also have the opportunity to meet and discuss with a successful ERC applicant.

This training will be in English and has a maximum of 16 participants.

Please register by completing the online registration form.

Are you unable to attend the training? In order to receive a full refund of the participation fee, please send your cancellation to before 1 September.
