About offshore wind in the Netherlands

The Netherlands has set an ambitious goal to supply 40% of electricity demand from offshore wind farms in the North Sea by 2030. The Dutch Government has a leading role in this development and has put an innovative tender policy in place. From 2018, offshore wind farms have been developed without subsidy.

Dutch public and private parties have teamed up to design, develop, build, and maintain high quality offshore wind farms. Together, we are proving that offshore wind is a powerful solution to achieve climate goals cost effectively. We are keen to share our knowledge with others. Together we know how Wind & Water Works.
