Are you active in the renewable energy industry and do you want to grow in developing markets? Do you want to know about new financing possibilities of the Dutch government for foreign trade and development cooperation? Then visit this upcoming sector event and join the debate on the Dutch contribution to accelerating towards SDG 7: access to affordable and renewable energy.

The sector event is organised on 5 April 2019 by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency ( in association with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It will focus on Dutch contributions to providing access to renewable energy in developing countries.

During this event, will launch the new subsidy facility SDG Results: Access to renewable energy (SDG 7 Results). Additionally, will present new phases of other instruments such as the FMO Access to Energy Fund, GET-Invest and the International Clean Energy Partnership.

SDG 7 Results offers opportunities in the renewable energy industry

Set up by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with, the new SDG 7 Results facility offers support for businesses, NGOs and financial institutions in the renewable to further develop markets for renewable energy in developing countries. The facility specifically aims to reach people living in poverty. During the event, is at your service to explain how you can use the facility and to clarify its goals.


The sector event will be opened by the ministry of Foreign Affairs, the World Bank and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The event will focus on how businesses, financiers, NGOs, knowledge institutions and governments can work together to speed up the SDG 7 goals in developing countries. At a global level, this will contribute to the ambitious goals to improve the climate.

During the event, participants can meet the abovementioned parties from the renewable energy industry in developing countries. Round table sessions are organised around various themes within the industry, including:

  • Financing start-ups
  • Renewable energy in a humanitarian context
  • Investing in large-scale renewable energy production
  • The future of clean cooking

You will gain valuable insight into immediate market opportunities during this event and have the opportunity to meet potential business partners. Last but not least, you will be able to ask questions about the new SDG 7 Results facility during information sessions.
