Then join the Netherlands Enterprise Agency's (RVO) startup mission to Web Summit 2022 in Lisbon. This event will take place from 1 November until 4 November. Web Summit is one of the world's most significant startup and tech events.

The 4-day trade mission to Web Summit 2022 allows startups to present themselves to a large and diverse audience.

Web Summit 2022

With more than 70,000 visitors across 4 days, 2,300 startup companies, 1,200 investors and 2,500 journalists from all over the world, Web Summit plays an essential role in the tech sector.

The conference focuses on internet companies, tech innovations and venture capital. Its partners range from Fortune 500 companies to startups. Participants represent all levels and sectors of the global tech industry.

Prominent figures such as Stephen Hawking, Elon Musk, Al Gore, Bono and UN Secretary-General António Guterres have attended previous editions of the conference. The city of Lisbon is the perfect location due to its thriving startup scene.

We also encourage women's entrepreneurship. We do not select participants based on gender. But we challenge you to look for women participants within your organisation to take part in this mission.

The participation fee is €500 (excluding VAT) per company. Only 2 participants per company can take part. This fee gives you:

  • unlimited access to Web Summit 2022 for 2 participants;
  • attendance to our preparatory meeting in October;

Travel and accommodation

Travel and accommodation are at your own expense. This also applies to meals and drinks, unless stated otherwise in the programme.

You will receive general information about the mission after your confirmation. This will tell which hotel the delegation leaders will stay in. It is not compulsory to book overnight stays at the same hotel. But, participants of previous missions have indicated that staying together in one hotel was helpful.

COVID-19 clause

The organisation will decide 8 weeks in advance whether to proceed with the trade mission. They will base their decision on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' travel advice, the event's entry regulations and the local situation in Portugal. Participants will be informed immediately if the event is postponed or cancelled. If that is the case, we will not collect any fees. Even after a decision to allow the mission to go ahead, the organisation reserves the right to cancel the trade mission in the event of unforeseen circumstances. We will not charge any participant costs in such cases.

Participants are responsible for arranging travel and accommodation. They must cancel travel and accommodation arrangements themselves if we cancel the mission. Any costs associated with this are for the participant.

Corporate Social Responsibility

The Dutch government places importance on corporate social responsibility (CSR) and endorses the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. These state the CSR standards for internationally active entrepreneurs. Following the OECD guidelines is one of the conditions for participation in this mission. To assess whether your company meets these conditions, we ask you to complete a CSR self-scan after registration.
