VivaTech 2023: the future of sports
At VivaTech, startups can show their latest innovative technologies to potential investors, partners and customers. More than 91,000 visitors, 1,800 startups and 1,700 venture capitalists will gather at Porte de Versailles in Paris. This year's VivaTech will have a sports theme and collaborate with Global Sports Week.
One hundred days before the Rugby World Cup and a year before the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics in Paris, the Future of Sports venue will open its doors at VivaTech 2023. It is a one-stop-shop for business opportunities, inspiration, networking and collaborations between companies in the sports sector.
Why take part?
This trade mission will let you meet industry leaders and gain valuable insights into the international and French markets. Our mission focuses on supporting fast-growing Dutch tech startups who want to expand their business internationally or have already done so. Together we will put the Dutch startup ecosystem on the map.

For whom?
We invite startups and scale-ups active in Artificial Intelligence, Deep-tech, Energy & Climate Tech, Ed-tech, Gaming or Food-tech. We look for companies that:
- have a high-tech, innovative and potentially disruptive product or service;
- have started or are ready for international scale-up;
- are registered at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce.

25 May | VivaTech Bootcamp: This is a mandatory event for the mission. The boot camp takes place in Rotterdam during the Upstream Festival, which you can access for free. During this event, we will give you information about VivaTech, and you will meet other participants. |
13 June | Welcome to Paris: Meet the Dutch delegation and diplomatic mission over food and drinks in Paris. We start at 12:00 CEST. |
14-17 June | VivaTech2023: For 4 days, you can attend Europe's largest tech exhibition, enjoy the side events, meet potential investors, create partnerships and promote your product in the NL Lounge. |
15 June | NL Networking event: meet up with like-minded people at an exciting location in Paris (to be confirmed). |
17 June | Debrief: We will evaluate this mission with un croissant et un café in hand. Your feedback is important to us. You can also arrange follow-up meetings with the local network during this event. |
Full attendance required
Trade missions are significant in successfully growing and developing a startup. So preparing and participating in every part of this mission is essential. With that in mind, we kindly request you to attend the VivaTech Bootcamp and participate in every aspect of the VivaTech programme. Please consider sending a colleague or rethink your application if you cannot attend.
Registration and fees
Register for this mission before 3 April. Each attendee needs to sign up separately.
Up to 25 startups can join this trade mission. Companies that join the mission must fall within mission's scope and focus. Registration does not guarantee your place in this mission. We assess your registration based on the requirements mentioned earlier.
We also encourage women's entrepreneurship. We do not select participants based on gender. But we challenge you to look for women participants within your organisation to take part in this mission.
Fees
The participation fee is €500 (excluding VAT) per company. Only 2 participants per company can take part. This fee gives you the following:
- unlimited access to VivaTech and their online platform;
- access to the compulsory VivaTech preparatory meeting on 25 May in Rotterdam;
- use of the NL Lounge as a meeting point at VivaTech;
- access to side events and networking events;
- networking opportunities with potential investors;
- the opportunity to sign contracts or Memoranda of Understanding in the presence of the Head of Delegation;
- support from the Startup Liaison Officers at the Netherlands Embassy in Paris and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.
Travel and accommodation
Travel and accommodation are at your own expense. This also applies to meals and drinks unless stated otherwise in the programme.
Corporate Social Responsibility
The Dutch government emphasises corporate social responsibility (CSR) and endorses the OECD Guidelines for multinational enterprises. These state the CSR standards for internationally active entrepreneurs. Following the OECD guidelines is one of the conditions for participation in this mission.
