Do you want to expand your exports to Uganda and are you active in one of the following sectors: dairy, horticulture, potatoes, poultry, pigs or machinery? Then join the trade mission on 13-17 February to attend the Harvest Money EXPO!
Mission and exhibition
The mission has been planned to coincide with the Harvest Money Expo, which will be held in Kampala on 14, 15 and 16 February 2020. The 1st edition of this exhibition attracted 20,000 visitors, and the 2nd 28,000! The 3rd edition was held earlier this year. Dutch companies are very satisfied with the turnout and the caliber of the visitors. The missions led to more business and new contacts with agents and distributors. In the next 3 years, the Netherlands will organise this mission every year to further capitalise on the opportunities in Uganda.
As a participant, you can have your own stand in the Holland Village, where you can entertain guests and attend matchmaking events. There will also be a separate room for presentations, workshops and demos.
On 13 and 14 February, the NEC will take farmers and companies to visit agricultural businesses around Kampala. This will be based on the wishes you indicate in your intake profile. On 4 November, we organised an information meeting. At a later date, a participants' meeting will be held. Participation in the mission offers you a good opportunity to do business and to set up or expand your network in Uganda.
Uganda's agricultural sector
In Uganda, more than 70% of households depend on agriculture. Due to the rapid growth in the Ugandan agricultural sector (and in other East African countries), the demand for technology and know-how has increased considerably.
The Netherlands has a good reputation in this area. In 2015, the Dutch embassy commissioned a scan of the market for agricultural machinery in Uganda, see Agri-Machinery Scan Uganda. And in 2016, it commissioned a scan of the agribusiness in Uganda, see The Agribusiness Market Scan. These reports show most of the opportunities available.
This mission follows-up on the opportunities identified in the market scans.
