Are you an innovative tech startup or scaleup and ready for expansion to Asia? Do you want to meet with Taiwanese companies and investors and/or explore the Taiwanese market? Join the trade mission to the Computex/ InnoVEX trade fair in Taiwan from 27 to 31 May. The mission is led by John Jorritsma, mayor of the city of Eindhoven.
The mission will focus on innovative 'tech solutions' for energy transition, smart cities and med / health tech.
Holland Startup Lounge at Computex / Innovex
The Computex in Taiwan is one of the world's largest computer and technology exhibitions. More than 1,600 companies and 50,000 visitors from around the world meet at Computex and its many side events each year.
The InnoVEX is a special separate event at COMPUTEX focusing on startups. The Dutch government has marked this as a strategic global event for Dutch startups looking to expand their business to the Asian market. The Netherlands will participate in the exhibition with a Holland Lounge, which will function as a meeting place for startups, investors and partners.
Did you know last year’s mission helped the participating startups to:
- Create $ 4.5 million in projects
- Open discussions with Taiwan’s leading tech businesses such as HTC, BenQ and Advantech
- Get featured over 100 times by international tech media, thanks to pitch competition opportunities
Opportunities for Dutch startups in Taiwan
Taiwan is the Asian hub for high tech systems and materials, attracting many companies ranging from large corporates to startups. Its central location in Asia, as well as the availability of various incentive programmes facilitated by the Taiwanese government, makes Taiwan particularly attractive for startups interested in the Asian market.
As a gateway to the Asian market, Taiwan is perfectly positioned for Dutch start-ups to:
- Enter into strategic partnerships with Taiwanese tech companies in order to bring products / services to the Asian market;
- Scale-up production with reliable, high-quality Taiwanese OEM partners;
- Obtain funding from Taiwanese VCs and large corporates.

A prep session will take place in the Netherlands prior to the trade mission. The participating startups will be prepared for the mission covering aspects such as pitch training and the way of doing business in Taiwan.
Participation is open to startups that meet the following criteria:
- Market entry readiness of product or service in the Dutch market
- Ready for international expansion/scaling
- Focus on the Asian/Taiwanese market
- Offering a highly disruptive product/service
- A highly technological and innovative product/ service
- Registered at the Dutch chamber of commerce
The participation fee is € 500 per company (maximum of 2 participants per company). Any additional participant (above the 2 participants) will be charged a € 250 participation fee. Please note: each participant needs to register separately. The participation fee includes the prep session in the Netherlands, as well as all collective programme components during the trade mission. Costs for flight and accommodation are at each participant’s own expense.
