Healthy Entrepreneurs helps Uganda fight coronavirus

Due to the lockdown in Uganda, Healthy Entrepreneurs cannot train any new entrepreneurs with mini pharmacies. A huge expansion of the project is planned, with financial help from the Dutch Good Growth Fund (DGGF). The focus is now on an app that can trace malaria as well as coronavirus.

Basic medication and telehealth

With Healthy Entrepreneurs, Joost van Engen has developed an effective franchise network. Thousands of trained community health workers provide villagers with basic medication and health products, even in the most remote areas. To do so, they use a tablet or smartphone. The newest innovation is the Doctors at Distance app. In the fight against the coronavirus, the Ugandan government has asked Healthy Entrepreneurs to develop this telehealth solution for the whole country.
