The Holland Circular Economy Week, which took place in the Netherlands from 11–14 June 2018, was a resounding success. It was all about circular innovations, co-creation, cooperation and doing business. The Dutch State Secretary for Infrastructure and Water Management Stientje van Veldhoven, architect Thomas Rau, former prime minister Jan-Peter Balkenende, Harald Friedl from Circle Economy and many more shared their ideas to create a circular economy. There were also company visits, workshops, pitches and matchmaking sessions in the programme covering the following themes: Electronics, textiles, waste management, plastics, circular construction, circular cities, water management and agrofood & biomass.
We had the honour of receiving delegations from over 20 different countries, connecting more than 150 international decision-makers from governments and the private sector with their Dutch counterparts and with each other! This would not have been possible without the huge efforts by all the missions involved which invited the foreign delegations and made their wishes for the programme known to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency which took care of coordination.
