Netherlands Enterprise Agency shortlisted for international trade award

The Starters International Business programme of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency ( was shortlisted for the international Trade Promotion Organisation Network Award 2016 of the International Trade Centre in Geneva.

The TPO Network Award is presented each year to national organisations for ‘outstanding services’ and for using innovative and effective measures to support internationally oriented entrepreneurs. In addition, organisations must also offer sufficient possibilities to the small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) sector.

Starters for International Business

The Starters International Business (SIB) programme, carried out on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gives entrepreneurs focused advice to help them take the step towards foreign markets, providing vouchers for individual coaching, trade missions, joint trade-fair presentations and hiring legal and tax advice in the field of export.
Bas Pulles, Director International Programmes at, says: ‘SIB is an important programme for us. Internationally operating companies are more resilient, become familiar with innovations more quickly and create employment. So of course we’re really proud to receive this international recognition.’


The three other nominees in the category ‘Developed Countries’ were programmes from Australia, Austria and France. The award to winner France was presented on Thursday 24 November in Marrakesh.
