Influentials Programme


Facts & Figures

Each year the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organises around 17 influentials programmes (IP’s). The size of the delegations ranges from 6 to 10 participants. The programme is collective and therefore the same for all participants. The duration differs depending on the theme and goals of the visit, but normally lasts approximately 3 days.

Influentials can be politicians, scientists, activists, judges, civil servants, businesspeople, journalists or a mix.


In general, the programme serves to show what knowledge and expertise the Dutch have to offer in a specific sector or on a specific theme. It tries to give a realistic and detailed insight into the Netherlands’ various policy fields. The aim is to promote a positive image of the country and, in the case of sensitive political issues, to provide insight into the Dutch standpoint and context.
