This agriculture and livestock programme for a high-level delegation from Ethiopia focused on seed production, horticulture, livestock, food safety and agricultural research and technology. Its objective was to introduce participants to private, public and research actors in Dutch agriculture, which is the main trading partner for the Ethiopian agricultural sector.
The days were filled with company visits, demonstrations and discussions. The programme also included a networking dinner, a visit to FrieslandCampina’s Innovation Centre, and a working lunch with a large group of Ethiopian students, board members, faculty and researchers at Wageningen University and Research Centre: a lively gathering, with a lot of smiling faces!
Towards the end of the visit, the Province of South Holland gave an interesting presentation on their development of the Greenport economic hub. Finally, the delegation toured ABC Westland agribusiness park, where they could observe agri-logistic operations first-hand. The programme ended with a number of bilateral meetings with companies.
