This Influential Visitors’ Programme for a delegation from Mozambique followed a successful Orange Corner programme in South Africa in 2016. It is part of a broader effort to promote Orange Corners in Africa, which gives members the tools and services they need for success in their entrepreneurial plans. Orange Corners Maputo is an incubator for startups, providing access to training and mentoring as well as inspirational space and a large network. The Mozambican participants – active in government, the academic world and the private sector – came to the Netherlands in order to learn about the Dutch startup ecosystem.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs and the city of The Hague gave presentations on the Dutch government’s startup strategies. The delegation also visited the Yes!Delft tech-startup incubator, the Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship, and Startup Delta. The programme concluded with a workshop during in delegates discussed possible future cooperation.
‘Let’s keep in touch. I´m pretty sure that there will be opportunities to collaborate in the YBI [Youth Business International] network.’
