MHPSS Experts for Potential Rapid Surge Deployment to Nepal

MHPSS Surge Mechanism is inviting expressions of interest from experienced MHPSS experts who are available for a potential rapid deployment to Nepal.

Following the recent devastating floods in Nepal, humanitarian response and surge planning are ongoing. The MHPSS Surge Mechanism anticipates that a request for MHPSS surge support may be received from one of its standby partners in the coming days or weeks.

At this stage, no official deployment request has been received and, therefore, no Terms of Reference (ToR) is currently available. However, in order to be prepared to respond immediately once a formal request is received, the MHPSS Surge Mechanism is proactively identifying and shortlisting qualified experts who are interested in and available for rapid deployment.

We are particularly interested in hearing from experienced MHPSS professionals who could be available to be deployed within 72 hours of confirmation of a formal deployment request, subject to the requirements and conditions of the requesting agency.

The specific profile, scope of work, duty station, duration, and other deployment conditions will be determined once an official request and Terms of Reference have been received. Candidates included in the preliminary shortlist may subsequently be contacted to confirm their continued availability and suitability for the specific assignment. The final selection will be made by the requesting agency.

When interested in being considered for a potential rapid deployment, please send a recent CV and clearly indicate your current availability, including whether you would be able to deploy within 72 hours in your message to mhpss@rvo.nl.

Candidates’ CVs will be reviewed based on their qualifications, relevant experience, and availability. Suitable candidates may be included in a preliminary shortlist that can be shared with the requesting agency once an official deployment request is received.

We strongly encourage a diverse set of candidates to express their interest, as we are committed to fostering gender diversity and inclusion in the MHPSS Surge Mechanism. Moreover, we stimulate national experts to become part of our database and to apply for deployment opportunities. Please visit our website and become part of our network.

At RVO we are fully committed to creating a safe and respectful work environment. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of sexual exploitation, abuse, or harassment (PSEAH).
