We handle your data with care. We use your personal data only for the purpose you provided it, or for a purpose that is sufficiently similar. We do not keep it longer than necessary.

What is the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG)?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) sets out the main rules for how organisations should handle use personal data. The GDPR helps protect your privacy. The same privacy legislation applies throughout the European Union. The Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) monitors compliance with the legal rules on personal data protection.

Privacy policy

We use the privacy policy of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The privacy policy is described in the privacy statement on the Ministry of Economic Affairs website. Here you can read how we deal with GDPR. For example, you will find information about the use, exchange, and retention periods of your data. You can also read what rights you have.

Privacy rights under GDPR

Under the GDPR, you have various rights. For example, you have the right to view or rectify your personal data. If you wish to exercise these rights, contact us.

You have various rights under the GDPR. For example, you have the right to inspect or rectify. If you would like to know what data we use about you or you would like us to make an adjustment to your registered personal data, you can submit a GDPR request.

Data processing register

All use of personal data can be found in the government-wide data processing register (verwerkingenregister). This register contains per topic:

  • A brief description of the types of data we use;
  • Why and what we use this data for;
  • What we do with this data;
  • Who is responsible for the use of this data.

This allows you to read whether we use your data in accordance with the GDPR rules.

Reporting a possible data breach

We handle your personal data with care. If data accidentally end up in the hands of the wrong person, there may be a data breach. We must report this to the Dutch Data Protection Authority in some situations.
