Patent publications can save you a lot of time and money in your innovation process. With this workshop, you will learn to test the novelty of your idea and discover whether you are at risk of infringing someone else's patents. Additionally, patent databases serve as a valuable source of inspiration and information about emerging technologies and potential competitors.

This workshop offers an opportunity for entrepreneurs, innovators, and researchers across all sectors to learn more about patents and their applications.

What to expect

During the interactive workshop:

  • We will show you what a patent database looks like.
  • We will teach you how to search with keywords, classification codes and how to read a patent.
  • You will become more confident in searching the patent database.

This workshop is part of the Gate Academy. It will be provided by Rienk Rienksma and Paul Simons, intellectual property advisors from the Netherlands Patent Office.
