€50 million EU funding for cybersecurity innovation
The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) recently published a new cybersecurity call under the Digital Europe Programme 2025-2027. With a total budget of €50 million, this calls targets companies and public sector organisations with innovative cybersecurity projects that strengthen Europe’s cyber resilience and protect critical digital infrastructure.

Cybersecurity topics
The call covers the following topics:
Cybersecure tools, technologies, and services relying on AI
With a budget of €15 million, this topic supports the development of AI-driven cybersecurity solutions that can be used in cyber hubs or sectoral Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTS). For example: early warning systems, incident response, and threat detection.
Uptake of innovative cybersecurity solutions for SMEs
This topic has a budget of €15 million and focuses on developing and deploying innovative cybersecurity solutions specifically tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The aim of this topic is to help SMEs improve their digital resilience with advanced security technologies.
Coordinated preparedness testing
€10 million is available for this topic. Intended for government organisations, this topic supports stress tests, simulations, and other preparedness activities. The aim is to strengthen the capacity of critical infrastructure operators in preventing and responding to cyber incidents.
Regional cable hubs
This topic with a budget of €10 million is intended for government organisations. The topic supports the establishment of regional cable hubs for submarine cables. It should strengthen threat detection and operational security around these strategic infrastructures.
When to apply?
The call opens on 28 October 2025 and closes on 31 March 2026.
Additional national funding
For the first 2 topics, the Dutch government has the intention to provide additional budget (national co-financing) through the Netherlands Enterprise Agency. This additional funding allows you, as a Dutch participant, to be reimbursed for a larger part of your project costs.
