Workshops ERC Starting and Consolidator grant

Target audience

• You are a researcher who has received a PhD between 2 and 12 years ago. 
• You are looking to set up or consolidate your (first) independent research team. 
• To support this mission, you wish to write an application for an ERC Starting or Consolidator grant. 

These ERC workshops are not intended for grant advisors or support staff.

Learning objectives

• You will gain insights in the ERC rules and procedures.
• You will be able to evaluate the strength of your track record.
• You will gain insight in the term 'frontier science' and assess your own research idea accordingly.

ERC workshops

This workshop will be held on May 27 and June 3, 2024. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to register for the May 27 workshop. You can still opt for the half-day workshop on June 3.

Full-day workshop

This workshop is of a highly interactive nature. The maximum number of participants is 16 persons. 

During this workshop you can benefit from the experience and insights from the group and the trainers. You will also have the opportunity to meet and discuss with a successful ERC applicant. Because of the small group setting, there is a lot of time for questions and discussion about your own proposal/idea. 

Half-day workshop 

This workshop is a condensed version of the full-day workshop. The maximum number of participants is 30 persons. 

During this half-day workshop you will receive the essential information to achieve the learning objectives above. In this shorter session however, you will not have the opportunity to learn from a successful ERC applicant. As the group will be bigger than the full-day workshop, there will be less time for personal questions and discussion about your proposal/idea. 

Please note that both the full-day and the half-day workshop are no proposal writing trainings, but workshops dedicated to the specific features of an ERC application.

Costs

• The costs for the full-day training are € 125,00 excluding VAT (€ 151,25 including 21% VAT). 
• The costs for the half-day training are € 60,00 excluding VAT (€ 75,02 including 21% VAT). 

If you cancel, we must receive your cancellation by e-mail one week prior to the start of the training to receive a full refund of the registration fee.

Location

• The full-day training on 27 May will take place at the Beatrixgebouw Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, from 9:30 to 17.00 CEST.
• The half-day workshop will take place at BCN Utrecht CS, from 13:00 to17:00 CEST.
