This Digital Europe Grant is intended to enhance operational cooperation between the civil and defence spheres through the development of dual use prototypes, ready-to-market products and operational infrastructures related to cybersecurity technologies that have relevance in both civilian and defence context.

Conditions

Examples of domains of interest for this call topic include quantum-safe cryptography, Zero Trust architectures, AI-driven threat detection and response, Cyber Ranges including Digital Twins for cybersecurity, and advanced SOAR tools (Security Orchestration, Automation and Response).

The above domains are expected to be demonstrated and deployed for (but not limited to):

  • Protection of critical infrastructure against cyber and physical threats  Secure communication between civilian and defence stakeholders, including through quantum-safe technologies
  • Addressing hybrid threats, such as GPS jamming, sabotage, ransomware and disinformation  
  • Extension of SOC/CSIRT capabilities and operations
  • Prevention of digital fraud and violence through monitoring and digital forensics

Submission criteria

  • Public and private entities, with a focus on the civilian and defence cybersecurity sectors, are eligible to apply under this topic. The establishment of a multinational consortium is not mandatory but would positively contribute to the impact of the action.
  • Only entities from the EU (including Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs)), Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein are eligible for this funding, provided that they are not subject to (potential) influence or control by entities outside the EU, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein.
