€204 million for digital innovation within the Digital Europe Programme

The European Commission makes a total of € 204 million available within the 2nd set of calls of the Digital Europe Programme 2025-2027. The new grant calls focus, among others, on business digitisation, digital skills, healthcare, public services and the automotive sector. 

The grant is divided between different topics. The budget distribution is as follows:

  • € 79.2 million to strengthen, and €8 million to complete, the network of European Digital Innovation Hubs, which support businesses in digital transformation.
  • € 22.5 million for biomedical research and the rollout of personalised healthcare.
  • € 14.4 million for using artificial intelligence in medical imaging.
  • € 9 million to support the sharing of industrial data.
  • € 4.5 million to establish the European Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Alliance (ECAVA).
  • € 6 million to combat disinformation via the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) hubs.
  • € 15 million for the development of the EU Digital Identity Wallet and mobile driving licences.

When to apply?

The first calls (EU Digital Identity Wallet and mobile driving licences) have recently opened and will close on 9 December 2025. The remaining calls will open on 4 November 2025 and close on 3 March 2026. 

Additional national funding

Through the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, extra budget (national co-financing) is available from the Dutch government for selected topics that are not fully funded by the European programme. With this co-financing, as a Dutch party you can be reimbursed for a larger part of your project costs.
