Urban Water Supply Specialist (P4) with IOM South Sudan
CLOSED - DRRS is looking for an Urban Water Supply Specialist (P4) to support IOM in South Sudan. The duration of the assignment is maximum 3 months, start date as soon as possible. Duty station is Bentiu and Malakal. Kindly note that for this position, fluency in English is required, and working knowledge of Arabic is desired.
For this position the following is required:
▪ Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field
from an accredited academic institution with 7-9 years of relevant professional experience;
▪ Proven experience in the design and implementation of large-scale water supply and treatment infrastructure in emergency, transition and development contexts;
▪ Demonstrated know-how and skills on urban water supply engineering principles in emergency, transition and development contexts;
▪ Proven experience with advanced solarization (solar-based water pumping) and treatment of surface water using sand filtration or similar;
▪ Proven experience in operational management of construction activities in the frame of urban water supply;
▪ Advanced proven computer literacy in Autocad, GIS, Hydraulic Engineering Software (Epanet, WaterCad, WaterGems, WaterHammer, etc.), Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) ( Document Links showing these expertise is highly recommended);
▪ Experience in maintaining working relationships with UN clusters, inter-agency coordination mechanisms and other stakeholders e.g. Governments or INGOs is strongly desirable;
▪ Fluency in English is required, working knowledge of Arabic is a strongly desirable.
