Organiser

  • Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)

Background

Subjects

This innovation mission will bring together Dutch and Indian organisations on subjects like:

  1. Efficient ways of converting biomass to bioenergy and biobased chemicals;
  2. Integrated Biorefineries;
  3. Broader use of residues as a feedstock.

For whom?

The mission is for researchers, innovators, R&D managers, business developers, CTOs, and CEOs of companies and knowledge institutions working on producing biofuels and biobased chemicals more efficiently and sustainably. The total number of participants is about 20, with a maximum of 2 per organisation. In case of significantly more registrations, we will have to make a selection based on how your expertise fits in with the mission, among other things. You will receive final confirmation of your participation after the registration period has closed.

Programme

The mission programme is currently being developed. We will organise match-making events, seminars, and field visits to key government, research, and business stakeholders. The mission will have the government centre New Delhi as its first destination and travel to R&D hubs Pune and Mumbai. The programme will include:

  • Interactions with government stakeholders such as the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the Department of Biotechnology, and the government initiative SATAT (Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation)
  • Engagement with knowledge institutes and R&D centres, such as IIT Delhi, IIT Mumbai, the National Institute of Bio-Energy (NIBE) and the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI)
  • Field visits to companies and biorefineries, such as Praj Industries and Godavari Biorefineries
  • Interactions with the local start-up ecosystem through networking seminars and match-making events, which will be co-organised with the Netherlands Embassy and organisations such as the Indian Biogas Association

For those who want to beat the jetlag by arriving already on Saturday, 12 October, an optional cultural tour of Delhi will be arranged. Not all visits and events are fixed yet; we will do our best to integrate further suggestions if feasible. Contact us if there are companies or research institutes you would like to visit.

Costs

The participation fee is € 250 per person. This includes participation in the joint programme, local transfers to and the programme components, and the meals mentioned in the final programme. Travel to India and back, the flight from Delhi to Pune, possibly the transfer from Pune to Mumbai, accommodation, and all individual spending are at your own expense.
