IP for AI inventions

This workshop focuses on understanding the basic concept of IP and when to apply for IP rights for inventions in the field of AI.

Programme

During the 1st part of the workshop, Valeria De Matteis, European Patent Attorney and Slavisa Milovanovic, Trainee Patent Attorney at EP&C Patent Attorneys will teach you about:

  • IP rights;
  • novelty of an invention;
  • patenting of computer-implemented inventions;
  • latest developments in patenting AI.

During the 2nd part, there will be an interactive session where we will teach you the basics of patent search. You will learn how to innovate more efficiently and thus save time and money by using patent information that is freely accessible online. During this part of the workhop, Rienk Rienksma, IP adviser at the Netherlands Patent Office will explain to you more about:

  • how to find relevant classification codes for your invention or field of interest;
  • how to find relevant patents for your invention;
  • how to use patent database Espacenet to achieve the above two goals.

For this part of the workshop, we recommend that you bring a laptop.

The workshop will be held in English.
