MIA\VAMIL: Proposal Environment list

Do you want to launch an innovative or eco-friendly product? Or do you want to broaden your market? Then have your product added to the Environmental List for MIA and VAMIL. Then your buyers can get tax benefits.

The tax advantage lowers your buyers' financial threshold for investment. Moreover, products on the Environment list have a demonstrably green image.

Annual adjustment

We adjust the Environment list every year. Investments that no longer meet the MIA and Vamil requirements as a result of technological advances, will be removed from the list or adapted, and new innovative investments will be added. Your product may be one of the newcomers.

The descriptions on this list are designed to cover various techniques with similar environmental performances. Does your environmentally-friendly and innovative product not yet fit one of the descriptions? Then submit a proposal to adjust or add a new description. Your product must meet a number of criteria.

Submit your proposal

Have you developed an innovative, environmentally-friendly product or company resource that you want to put on the market? Submit your product to the Environment list.

Make your proposal

Follow the 6 steps on how to submit a proposal and what happens to your proposal.

Step 1: check whether your product is already on the Environment list

First check whether your product might already fall under one of the descriptions on the Environment list. To do so, use the digital search function (in Dutch). If in doubt, contact us at milieulijst@rvo.nl.

Step 2: make your proposal via our online form

Would you like to submit a proposal for inclusion in the Environment list 2027? You can do this from 1 January 2026. Make sure you do so no later than 15 August 2026.

We recommend submitting the proposal well before 15 August 2026. This will give us enough time for careful processing and the necessary coordination with all relevant government bodies.

Additional information

It is important that you have additional information on your proposal. For example, think of professional literature, documentation materials. And also which organisations or companies can provide (more) information about your proposal. We may ask you for this.

Please note: is your proposal focused on energy saving and storage only? Then submit your proposal to the Energy Investment Allowance (EIA) scheme. 

Step 3: we assess your proposal against various criteria

We review and assess your proposal against the criteria for inclusion in the Environment list. If necessary, we will ask you for additional information.

Step 4: we advise the ministry

We submit an opinion on your proposal to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management.

Step 5: the ministry decides

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management decides on the inclusion of your product in the Environment list.

Step 6: the new Environment list is published

  • The Environment list 2027 will be published in the Government Gazette and on this website by the end of 2026.
  • We do not communicate about the composition of the list. However, we will contact you within 4 weeks of publication to find out whether your proposal has been included. And what the reason is if we do not include your proposal.

Positive lists

You can also apply for inclusion of your type of asset on a so-called 'positive list'. These are lists containing brands and types of assets. We know that these brands and types meet or may meet the requirements of a code description on the Environmental List. We determine this on the basis of technical specifications received from the suppliers.

Suggestions, ideas and comments

We would love to hear all your suggestions, ideas and comments. For example:

  • if the solution to an environmental problem specific to your industry is underexposed on the Environmental List;
  • If you encounter problems in obtaining the necessary quality marks for MIA or Vamil;
  • if, in your opinion, the procedure for inclusion in the Environmental List is not clearly described in the brochure or on the website;
  • if you think the descriptions on the Environmental List are not clear.
