Wat betekent netcongestie voor uw organisatie?

Grid congestion (an overloaded power grid) has consequences for organisations that use the power grid. For example when you apply for a new or upgraded connection, switch to electric machines or vehicles or if you want to make your organisation more sustainable. This page provides information on the consequences of grid congestion for businesses.

The impact of grid congestion on your organisation

An increasing number of organisations are challenged by grid congestion. This becomes noticeable with plans for sustainability or expansion. Or when your business requires a new connection in an area where power grid capacity has reached its limits. A shortage of capacity on the power grid slows down or obstructs these plans.

Consequences for businesses

Grid congestion makes it more difficult for many businesses to:

  • expand or relocate;
  • become more sustainable by introducing electric vehicles or heat pumps, for instance;
  • open a new branch.

This will become apparent if you want to:

  • request a new or upgraded power grid connection;
  • use more electricity (increase contracted transport capacity);
  • feed in electricity from your solar panels or wind turbines.

In these cases, you may be placed on a grid operator’s waiting list.

What can you do in the event of grid congestion?

Grid congestion is a problem throughout the Netherlands. How can you still proceed with your plans?
