Why Vancouver?
Vancouver is the largest city on the Canadian west coast. The region around the city, Metro Vancouver, is an ambitious and rapidly growing innovation hub. It is also the country's fastest-growing region for high-tech jobs.
- It is known as 'Hollywood North' due to its strong film industry and digital entertainment sector.
- It is a leader in Climate Tech, with companies like Ballard Power Systems, a pioneer in hydrogen fuel cells, and firms specializing in direct air carbon capture.
- It has a highly skilled workforce, making it a key location for U.S. tech companies and their Canadian Research & Development offices.
- Vancouver’s location makes it a 'gateway to Pacific Asia'. Web Summit will also provide networking opportunities with Asian companies and investors.
- Check out more insights on the economic growth of the region.

Curious about what to expect? Watch the Collision 2024 aftermovie, the Web Summit edition of last year that took place in Toronto, Canada.
Collision (Web Summit Toronto) was not just a stage for innovation and technology, but also a diverse and inspiring environment. One of the highlights for me was making meaningful connections during the informal conversations over coffee or drinks. Besides that, RVO organised several activities outside of Collision that provided a unique look into the Canadian startup world.
