Horizon Europe: GenAI4EU: Creating European Champions in Generative AI

The EIC Accelerator provides funding for innovative companies contributing to developing generative AI (GenAI) in Europe. The scheme targets startups and SMEs developing AI solutions for various sectors, focusing on reliability, transparency and security. The aim is to support cost-effective, scalable and secure AI solutions that contribute to the European Union's strategic autonomy in this critical technology.

- Application period: you can apply continuously (short proposals)
- Budget: €50 million
- Expected number of projects funded: 5 -15
- Estimated project duration: 24 -36 months

For whom?
The subsidy is for startups and SMEs active in AI development focusing on:
- developing and validating new generative AI models;
- adapting existing models for specific sectors or data sources;
- integrating and testing GenAI solutions into existing workflows, including certification and post-market surveillance.
Conditions
- The AI models developed should go beyond the current state of the art and help overcome limitations such as unexplained inaccuracies and lack of transparency.
- Projects should focus on several sectors, of which the following is relevant for cybersecurity organisations: Security - AI solutions for threat detection and vulnerability management.
- AI models should comply with EU guidelines for trusted AI, including transparency, privacy and security.
- Developed models will have access to European supercomputing capabilities through AI Factories and EuroHPC.
- You may face additional investment conditions to ensure economic security.
