The programmes serve incoming visits to the Netherlands only. The Netherlands Enterprise Agency takes care of the planning, content and logistics of the programme. In addition, we host the delegation during the visit and work closely together with the Ministry, the Dutch embassies and partners in the Netherlands in organising and developing the programmes.
Objectives & themes
The programmes are aimed at fostering the exchange of knowledge, building networks and exploring opportunities for cooperation with the Netherlands – either in G2G, K2K, B2B or a combination – in a specific sector or on a specific theme.
The programmes contain various themes, including water management, agriculture & horticulture, food security, logistics, circular economy, port development & infrastructure, peace & justice, international law, human rights and LGBTI rights.
The programmes are organised at the request of the Dutch embassies in designated countries for either ‘influentials’, ‘high potentials’ or journalists. The programmes offer opportunities for delegations to visit the Netherlands in the framework of three programmes:
The Influentials Programme shows what knowledge and expertise the Dutch have to offer in a specific sector or on a specific theme. It tries to give a realistic and detailed insight into the Netherlands’ various policy fields. Influentials can be politicians, scientists, civil servants, businesspeople, journalists, or a mix.
Dutch Visitors’ Programme
The Dutch Visitors’ Programme focuses on high potentials. High potentials (aged 27–35) are promising young professionals (future leaders) in government, politics, business, civil society, education and science. There is a fixed number of 6 programmes per year focusing on the following themes: Democracy & the Rule of Law, Water, Logistics, Human Rights, Food Security and Sustainable Energy. Participants will get the opportunity to experience the Netherlands first-hand - to obtain valuable insight into the country’s history, culture, people and society – as well as to gain relevant knowledge to fulfil both professional and personal needs and interests. The emphasis lies on creating a network of ‘Holland Ambassadors’ worldwide.
The Journalists Programme invites journalists from all types of media and from specific countries, to visit the Netherlands and report on specified themes, mainly related to state visits and strategic economic missions. The goal is to create more media exposure to these visits and missions.
