Identification and registration of animals

When animal diseases threaten public health, we need to act quickly. That is why there are rules for the identification and registration (I&R) of animals. For instance, you must register cattle, pigs, sheep, goats, equidae, but also dogs. Even if you keep these animals as a hobby. They get an (ear) tag or chip, for example. You only need to register poultry and hatching eggs if you keep the animals as a business.
