Water and Wastewater (WASH) engineer (P2 - junior) with IOM in Ukraine

ClOSED - DRRS is looking for a Water and Wastewater (WASH) engineer to support IOM Ukraine to provide technical support for the planning, coordination and implemenation of the Water, Sanitation and Heat (WASH) program in Ukraine. Duty station is Odesa. The duration of the deployment is 3 months, starting date is a.s.a.p. Junior professionals with some experience working with water utilities are encouraged to apply. 

The following is required for this position:

  • Masters degree in water engineering, environmental/civil engineering or other related fields is desired
  • experience in urban and rural water and wastewater management, rehabilitation, operation and maintenance
  • Experience in urban emergency responses
  • Knowledge and experience in groundwater exploration, including deep borehole drilling, supervision and pump testing
  • knowledge and experience in water and wastewater electro-mechanical systems, including pump design and sizing
  • Experience in emergency relief, humanitarian or development programs is an added advantage
  • Proven ability to interact successfully with key partners is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Ukranian and Russian is desirable.
