These Laws & Regulations focus on making companies more sustainable. For example, regulations for energy-saving measures and reports on emissions of greenhouse gases.
Energy efficiency notification obligation
Does your organisation use 50,000 kWh of electricity or 25,000 m³ of natural gas (or an equivalent) or more per year? If this is the case, you might need to take energy-saving measures. There is a payback period of 5 years or less: the energy efficiency obligation.
National Inventory Entity (NIE)
Under the United Nations Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Kyoto Protocol, parties now need to report on emissions of greenhouse gases. They also have to report on steps they are taking to carry out the agreements. The UNFCCC reviews these national reports.
Sustainable biomass
The Netherlands Programme Sustainable Biomass (NPSB) supported around 40 pioneering projects in biomass for several years. The expectation is that demand for biomass resources will increase for both local and export markets. The same goes for existing uses and new markets in the biobased economy.
