Market consultation on wind energy areas IJmuiden Ver Gamma and Nederwiek I
Would you like to contribute your thoughts on the tender procedure for the IJmuiden Ver Gamma and Nederwiek I wind farms in the Dutch North Sea? Would you like to share your insights on the challenges facing the supply chain and business case for offshore wind? Then participate in the market consultation for IJmuiden Ver Gamma and Nederwiek I until 17 January 2024.
Content of the consultation
For the IJmuiden Ver Gamma and Nederwiek I tenders, the Dutch Government will choose from 3 possible procedures:
- Comparative test without financial offer: an independent committee assesses the permit applications based on qualitative criteria. We do not ask applicants to make a financial offer.
- Comparative test with financial offer: we also ask applicants to make a financial offer. The financial offer is part of the qualitative criteria.
- Auction: the financial bid of the applicants is decisive for who receives the permit.
You will be asked a number of questions about these procedures. We will also ask you some questions about the supply chain and the business case for offshore wind. Grid operator TenneT will also ask you a few questions in this consultation. We take your answers into consideration in our decision for one of the procedures.

In-person interviews
In addition to the online questionnaire, in-person interviews will take place in the second half of January. During these interviews, we will discuss a number of questions from the questionnaire, for example to gain more clarity about your answer or for more depth.
In the questionnaire, you can indicate whether we may contact you for this purpose. We cannot talk to everyone: your registration does not automatically mean that we will invite you to be interviewed. We aim to provide you with clarity on this as soon as possible.
The interviews consist of 2 rounds:
- with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency
- with grid operator TenneT
Both interviews will be in rooms at the same location and on the same day. This way you can combine these appointments on one day.
Complete the market consultation
You can complete the market consultation until 17 January 2024. We prefer to receive your answer as soon as possible for planning the interviews.
- Can you complete the consultation questionnaire before 5 January? Then we may invite you for an in-person interview on 16 or 19 January.
- Are you likely to complete the consultation questionnaire between 5 January and 17 January? Then we may invite you for an in-person interview on 19 or 22 January.
After the interviews
We will send the reports of the physical in-person interview to you for approval. You will be free to make adjustments. We record these interviews and comments anonymously in a report to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate. This report is for internal purposes only and will not be made public.
