On 16 October, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) presented the first edition of the Solar Energy and Storage Guide to trade association Energy Storage NL. This guide highlights the Netherlands' experience in solar energy and storage. The presentation took place during a well-attended conference hosted by Energy Storage NL at the energy trade fair 'Vakbeurs Energie' in the Netherlands.

Kenneth Colijn (International Solar Energy Advisor at RVO) presented the guide to Jeroen Neefs (Director of Energy Storage NL) during the 'Energy Storage Day' conference hosted by Energy Storage NL at the energy trade fair

Spotlight on Dutch innovative spirit

The Solar Energy and Storage Guide 2024 covers the latest developments in the Netherlands' solar energy sector and includes profiles of more than 70 companies. The guide shows the experience and solutions the Netherlands has to offer when it comes to solar energy and storage.

Dutch embassies and Netherlands Business Support Offices (NBSOs) will distribute this report within their networks. The guide aims to raise awareness among foreign business partners about the Dutch solar energy sector.

Additionally, Dutch trade associations can use this guide to promote the Dutch solar energy sector to international stakeholders.

Focus on energy storage

This year's guide focuses on the integration of solar energy generation and storage. Jeroen Neefs, director of Energy Storage NL, says, "Combining solar energy generation and storage is the new norm. It increases the share of sustainable energy in the Netherlands and reduces our dependence on gas and coal. This guide shows its potential and the Dutch companies that offer this combination."

The Solar Energy and Storage Guide 2024 is the result of public-private collaborations within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' International Clean Energy Partnership (ICEP) trade promotion scheme. RVO, along with partners Energy Storage NL, TKI Urban Energy, and Holland Solar, compiled this guide.
