What role can a municipality play in the increasing water demand and decreasing water quantity during heat periods?
Municipality is heatproof if
- There is always sufficient water available for consumption and households.
- The capacity of the water network is large enough.
- The strategic drinking water supply is sufficient.
Measures
- Together with the drinking water company, make an inventory of current and future bottlenecks for drinking water supplies in extreme heat.
- Make agreements on measures to safeguard the drinking water supply.
- Draw up a communication plan for residents that explains policy and crisis measures in the event of a drinking water shortage.
