About Circular Bio-based Europe (CBE)

CBE is now in its 4th year. Its mission is to unite actors from across the bio-based value chain - including farmers, scientists, and industry leaders - to address the sector's technological, regulatory, and market challenges. CBE’s annual funding calls drive innovation and market deployment while paving the way for future investments.

The 2025 call opens on 4 April and closes on 17 September. It offers a total budget of €165 million across 13 topics. These include amongst others:

  • scaling up nutritional proteins from alternative sources;
  • developing cost-effective and robust continuous biotech bio-based processes;
  • valorising untapped forest biomass;
  • sustainable macroalgae systems for innovative, added-value applications.

What's in it for you?

At this info session we will inform you about:

  • The results of past CBE JU calls.
  • The experiences from Dutch project participants.
  • An overview of the 2025 funding call.
  • Tips on how to successfully submit a proposal and information about the evaluation process.
