Singapore is among the world’s most innovative economies and invests heavily in deep-tech fields such as quantum. Through national programmes like the Quantum Engineering Programme (QEP), the National Quantum Computing Hub (NQCH), the National Quantum-Safe Network (NQSN) and the Federated Quantum Foundry, Singapore is building a connected ecosystem in which government, universities and industry work closely together. The government also acts as a launching customer and stimulates testbeds with companies—accelerating validation and scale-up of new technologies.

This mission offers a unique chance to meet key stakeholders and explore how Dutch innovations can plug into Singapore’s ambitious quantum agenda. Dutch strengths in quantum hardware, cryogenic technologies and quantum communications naturally complement the focus of Singapore on software, middleware and applied deployment.

Who should join

  • Entrepreneurs and professionals developing innovative solutions in the quantum domain (e.g., hardware components, software, communication, sensing).
  • Research institutes and academics seeking collaboration with Singaporean universities and research centres.
  • Companies and institutions exploring market opportunities in sectors where quantum applications are being developed, such as finance and telecommunications.

Mission objectives

Build a clear understanding of Singapore’s quantum ecosystem, its application-driven national programmes and collaboration models.

Identify R&D and co-development opportunities within national platforms, Singapore grant schemes and EUREKA.

Strengthen the position of the Dutch quantum ecosystem in Asia and contribute to interoperability and standardisation.

Draft programme (tentative)

  • Netherlands–Singapore Seminar Day, co-organised with Singapore’s National Quantum Office.
  • Site visits to national quantum platforms and laboratories.
  • Roundtables focused on applications and collaboration with end-users (e.g., financial and telecom sectors).
  • Networking and B2B/B2R matchmaking with local start-ups
