Participating as an entrepreneur

Your company is located in Aruba, Curaçao, or Sint Maarten, and its business activities are primarily conducted there. Are you unsure whether your business falls under the definition of an SME? Then complete the SME assessment (in Dutch).

You are considered an established business if you have operated your business for more than three years. The form in which you operate (natural person or legal entity) is irrelevant. If you have been operating your business for less than three years, you are considered a start-up and can benefit from additional support under the BMKB ACS (Financial Support for Businesses).

If the loan is for residential/commercial use, at least 50% of the space must be designated for business use.

When is BMKB ACS not eligible?

You are not eligible for the BMKB ACS if:

  • You have a business whose last or expected annual turnover is derived for more than 50% from:
    • banking, insurance, or investment activities, or the financing of one or more other businesses; or
    • the acquisition, disposal, development, management, or exploitation of real estate.

Participating as a financier

BMKB ACS loans are provided by accredited financiers.

Financiers

The scheme has recently opened. Currently, no financiers have been accredited. Upon accreditation, financiers will be published here.

Are you a non-bank financier interested in using the BMKB ACS for your SME financing? You can submit a request for participation.

For accreditation, please contact us at info.bmkb@rvo.nl.

Additional support within the BMKB ACS

In several situations, you can count on additional support within the BMKB ACS. You can receive additional support if:

  • you are a start-up;
  • your loan application falls under the Small Credit Scheme (max. BMKB of €250,000).

Start ups and the BMKB ACS

As a start up, you can take advantage of additional options within the BMKB ACS.

Definition of a start-up

You are a start up if you have been running a business for less than 3 years. You can use the surety scheme if you have a sole proprietorship or a general partnership (VOF), but also if you are the managing director and majority shareholder of a private limited company (BV).

Size

If you take out a 'starter loan' with the financier for a maximum of 333,333 euros, the government will guarantee 67.5%. If your financing needs are higher, you can also use a standard surety loan.
